Convex Photo Info

How does it work?

When a company signs up to be a regular client, they are given their own name and password for access to the Convex Photo FTP. The client will then set up a schedule of deadlines and due dates so that we can know when to have the photos ready.
After that, the client may upload their raw pictures into their folder on the FTP, and will be contacted when the finished photos are ready.

It is highly recommended that you include a text document with your photos with instructions about how to treat the photos. While e-mail is a great tool, it is not perfect, so just to be safe, and just so I always know what clients want, I recommend including instructions. If there are no instructions and no e-mails, you will be contacted, and I will try to to remedy the situation, but there is no guarantee that Convex Photo will be able to meet your deadline.

How much does this cost?

Convex Photo offers three levels of service.

Photo Processing
Photo processing involves doing minor corrections to a mass amount of photos. This process is usually helpful between photographers and production companies so the photographers can upload their pictures in any format, but production always downloads them in the format they want (CMYK vs RGB, file types, crops, certain file sizes, certain resolutions, etc.). This process is very simple but can become tedious with large batches of photos.
The price for this service is 25 cents / photo.

Photo Retouch
Retouch includes all the services of photo processing, and is usually done in smaller quantities. Retouch is usually defined as airbrushing and color correction; basically making a mediocre photo look great. Here is a good example of a photo retouched.
The price for this service is $100 / hour.
(The example above took fifteen minutes, so the price was $25)

Major Construction
This the service you'll seldom find elsewhere. This service is reserved for projects like full-page color ads, magazine covers, or a flashy professional flier. As far as what's possible here, if you can dream it, I can do it (object placement / removal, etc.).
It's difficult to set a flat price or even a flat rate for this level of service, but jobs usually run between $100 and $400 worth of work.
